Before work can be done to place an implant, a consultation will be needed. Your dentist will examine your overall health and determine whether you have sufficient bone structure to support the dental implants. If not, a bone graft procedure may be recommended before the actual implant procedure takes place.
In a traditional dental implant procedure, a dentist will make an incision in the gum line over the site of the missing tooth. The bone underneath will be prepped to receive the implant, and the post will be inserted. The gum tissue will then be stitched closed, and the implant will be left for approximately four months to allow it time to fuse into the jaw bone. Once the implant is ready, a customized tooth will be fitted to it.
Dr. Wang uses a digital implant system, which is 3x times faster than a traditional implant. Getting a digital implant placed is a relatively easy procedure and is less stressful than getting a traditional implant. Getting digital implants placed takes less time than a regular appointment. Patients also experience little to no post-operative pain. The best part is that the implant can be restored (custom crown) within three months.
